Mind Itself is the World - And Mind Itself is Liberation
Mind Itself is the World - And Mind Itself is Liberation
This entire world has been created by the mind. That is why this world appears different to every living being.
For a human, the world is according to his desires, his dreams and his fears. Whereas for an animal, the world is only according to hunger, sleep and fear. The world is one, but everyone's mind is different, therefore everyone's world is also different. To understand this fact itself is half of liberation.
When the Mind Becomes Everything
When a person considers this world created by his own mind as 100% truth, then all problems begin. He thinks that this house, this money, this relationship, this respect is everything.
As soon as he believes this, his desires, his longings never end. One desire is fulfilled and the mind creates another desire. The mind tells him - "Now if I get this, I will be happy." That thing is also attained, but the happiness ends in two days. Then the mind makes him run after something else.
In this confusion, he does all his actions out of ego. He feels "I am doing it, it is happening because of me." Due to this ego, he gets entangled in karmas.
If he does bad karmas, he has to suffer bad results. If he does good karmas, he enjoys good results, like attainment of heaven. But because behind every karma the "I" stands, therefore he remains trapped in the web of birth and death in the cycle of both merit and sin. He remains engaged in the journey of sometimes heaven and sometimes hell, never liberated.
He who has understood this illusory world as the final truth has become a victim of the ego-intellect of the mind. He always remains far away from God, from his real self, just like a deer keeps searching outside in the forest for the fragrance of musk which is actually in its own navel.
Control Over the Mind is Self-Realization
But when a person starts observing his mind, controls it completely, understands it not as his master but as a tool, then a miracle happens in his life.
Sooner or later, the lamp of self-knowledge starts burning within him. Then this entire spread-out world starts appearing false to him like a mirage seen in a desert. From a distance it looks like water, but when you go near, there is nothing. Similarly, every object of the world seems to give happiness from a distance, but on going near, everything is empty.
The vision of an ordinary human does not go at all towards the direction from where he can get self-knowledge. He always remains entangled in attachment and hatred, i.e. likes and dislikes, and in the faults of the senses. He remains a slave to the mind throughout his life.
He considers the pleasures and pains of the mind as his own pleasures and pains and remains engrossed in them. His life is not spent for the attainment of God, but in running after something in the illusion of the world, about which he feels that he will become happy by attaining it. Even after attaining it, he remains empty from within.
Certainly, without God, this life is like a cripple, in which even after getting everything, nothing is attained.
The Final Truth
And the day the seeker comes to know that it is this God Himself who, through me, is experiencing His own illusory world, on that very day the game ends.
In reality, nothing has ever happened till date. No one has ever been born, no one has ever died. This entire animate and inanimate world, these trees, plants, humans, animals, all are infinite forms of that one God only. Being one, He is situated in infinite forms.
The visible world was never created, only God has always been the truth. Knowing this, that person does not remain a Jiva (individual soul), he becomes one with his real self, the Supreme Brahman, the Supreme Soul. Then his world completely ceases and only God is seen everywhere, in every particle.
This itself is called self-knowledge, this itself is called Moksha (liberation) and this itself is the supreme state.
